BIO

“An intelligent music listener’s dream. The music is danceable but also worthy of focus to see their communication in real time. It is something special to bear witness to the birth of a band that could potentially take a scene by storm, you feel like you’re in on something, witness to something great.” - Glide Magazine

Magic In The Other was born out of the idea that it is in the unknown where the most potent ground lays for magic and discovery. Assembled in early 2017 consisting of in-demand Bay Area veterans - drummer and bandleader Ezra Lipp (Phil Lesh & Friends, Sean Hayes), bassist Steve Adams (ALO, Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers) and guitar wizard Roger Riedlbauer (Jolie Holland), this innovative trio from Oakland, CA sets out to connect with their listeners, creating a mentally-stimulating, emotionally-resonate, highly-danceable, and distinctly-transformative experience where everyone feels just a little more magical. An indie-rock trio at its core, MITO combines a slew of diverse influences to create an original sound of intelligent songwriting and heart-felt, improvisational fearlessness. Magic In The Other’s debut record, What We Know Is Possible, released in September 2018 is out now and has been met with very warm reception. MITO will continue to tour in support of this record throughout 2018 and 2019 and look forward to the next chapter in their development.

High Sierra Music Festival 2018 Artist Playshop Review - http://bit.ly/mito-pop-matters-hsmf-review

"It takes a bold artist to lead this type of set in an era where many music fans will claim they don't want to hear about socio-political matters when they're trying to have a good time. But as rock 'n' roll has proved time and again, music can also be a force for spiritual awakening and higher consciousness even as its helping people get their groove on. Lipp and MITO have leaped to the forefront of a modern movement to rekindle music's consciousness-raising power at a time when it's needed more than ever." - Pop Matters
